Author Biography

Jean-Dominique Pénel

J-D. Pénel has a doctorate in Philosophy and his academic career has taken him to the Central African Republic, Niger, Djibouti, and The Gambia. He is the author of eleven books, four of which are
about Niger. His publications include Homo caudatus, histoire des
hommes à queue d’Afrique Centrale, ou archéologie du discours ethnologique (Paris, 1976) and Repères sur la pensée centrafricaine d’aujourd’hui (Bangui, 1983).
